Faces & Places was born as a desire to nurture a space where communities could be created and people would love to stay, share memories and experience a unique journey in life.
This is the initiative of Ina Shkëmbi, a young entrepreneur, born and raised in Tirana. After a long search for the perfect place to create a nest for all the futures we could embrace she stumbled upon an Italian style villa at the heart of the New Bazaar in this city. She decided to start working immediately into making this space a comfortable and suitable space to host all the travelers from near and far.
Everything Old Is New
This villa whose history is hidden within the shadow of the leaves of the city, was and is still the heart of the city, famously known as a place of commerce and as a transitory escapade connecting the East with the West.
Faces & Places is closely connected with the New Bazaar, as an extension of the Old Bazaar that resided closer to the center of Tirana. The road you follow to find this hotel used to be full of shops and materials laid in the street ready to be sold.
The Concept Of Faces
& Places
Imagine this space as the blood of the town connecting all the main cities together, formerly known as Çarshia e Tiranës, this area hosted more than 600 shops of artisans, workers, professionals selling everything handmade and hand produced.
Tirana is a place of creators: you see it in the inventive ways this city finds solutions to better host their needs. Look at the balconies, the gardens, the streets and you will always find a hand doing the work so everything can look natural and relaxed.
Coming back to the building, it signifies a period of change in Tirana, where Albanian migrants would come to Tirana and build their own houses in the city. The fine lineage and the simplicity in its architecture is a detail of modernistic and pragmatic architecture in Tirana, connecting it to the style of buildings built in the early 1900s.
We have designed each space to reflect our rich cultural background and you can find thorough information about other cities that have helped stylize this hotel.
It is in the middle of Tirana, but inside you can find Albania at large in just one visit.
